Yes, please check “Pricing” on our website.
If you are 17, you can apply as a self-payer. We can make an exception under the agreement that your parents take responsibility for all your behavior. If you are under 17, please apply next year at the earliest.
Our main program is the study of the Czech language. We also offer lessons in different Slavonic languages. Please read the brochure for more information.
Until June 30 (all participants). There may be some discounts for self-payers. Please check “Pricing” on our website.
The accompanying program is included in the price, you will not pay for any trips, excursions, workshops etc. provided by the summer school.
No, you can choose accommodation according to your preferences. Please select ‘I don’t need accommodation’ in the application form. However, for scholarship holders, we only cover accommodation in the dormitories, specifically in double rooms (there is an additional charge for single rooms, to be paid by the student if they choose single accommodation).
It is up to your preferences. All students of our summer school are accommodated on two floors at the Generála Svobody dormitory. A suite (two rooms) shares a toilet and a bathroom. Typically, two people are accommodated in one room. The entire suite is assigned to either men or women. We strive to place individuals of similar ages in the same room. If you enjoy socializing and want to have more fun, we recommend choosing a double room. Based on our experience, participants of the summer school are nice and friendly people. However, if you have health, study, or other reasons, a single room (1 person per room) might be more suitable for you. An extra fee for a single room is required if you choose this option on the registration form.
Absolutely not. What you choose on the application form will automatically be entered into our system, and this information will be provided to the dormitory. If you fill out the application form and then decide to change your mind, you must let us know in advance. We then may manually update your choice to avoid any inaccuracies. Since we have to check it manually for each individual student, we kindly ask you to carefully consider your choice before submitting the form.
The dormitory is open 24/7, but it does have breaks (usually 30–60 minutes). Please check the infosheet (you will receive the infosheet before the summer school starts, i.e., in June).
If you need to arrive earlier or leave sooner, please always consult with us via our email at lsss@upol.cz.
Yes, there are small kitchenettes on each floor where you can prepare food. However, they are not equipped for day-to-day cooking. If you plan to cook on a daily basis, we recommend bringing your own essential cookware.
These characteristics are not included in the application form, and we have no information about the personal traits of our students. We accommodate women with women and men with men. We strive to place individuals of similar ages together and we consider personal requests (e.g., to be accommodated with a specific person). If a mixed-gender couple requests to stay together, we must find another couple in a similar situation at the summer school to share an apartment. If such a couple cannot be found, the couple may be asked to pay for two single rooms.
No, students are responsible for booking the tickets and getting to Olomouc on their own.
You can choose any of the companies that provide transport in the Czech Republic, such as České dráhy, Leo Express, Regiojet etc. — all are good options. However, here’s a piece of advice: If you plan to use Leo Express, buy your tickets in advance as prices significantly increase when purchased on the day of or just a few days before your journey. If you opt for České dráhy, we recommend taking the Pendolino train for its speed and comfort. If traveling on a regular České dráhy train, consider booking first class. Regiojet is also a good option.
So far, you can check the websites where you can download our brochure about our courses, visit our Facebook and Instagram pages, and view the infosheet. Further information will be provided to you during registration.
If you do not pass the final test, you will not receive the final certificate. Instead, you will only receive a confirmation of participation.
